Mission
The Tongzhi Literary Group aims to foster the writing of sexual minorities in Hong Kong and build a reader-writer community by introducing writers to a wider public.
Events
Talks are open to the public and both writers and readers are welcome. These meetings showcase readings, mostly by their authors, of any tongzhi-related text in Chinese or English. Chinese works are usually presented in Cantonese and summarized in English. Books are often sold by the authors and sessions provide an opportunity for writers and non-writers to meet and mingle. TLG also aims to hear works by unpublished writers and help writers with publishing matters and translation.

History
The Tongzhi Literary Group was created in March 2008, growing out of two sessions on LGBT literature held by the Man Hong Kong International Literary Festival. Moderated by Nigel Collett, the sessions examined issues involved in LGBT writing in Hong Kong and brought together a large panel of local writers including Xu Xi, Ip Chi-wai, Henry JiaJia Lam, Stuart Koe, Nicholas YB Wong, Victor Chau and Peter Moss. This event encouraged Nigel Collett and Reggie Ho along with other participants to set up a literary group to continue their association and to promote tongzhi literature in Hong Kong.
